I Enjoy Coffee (And Maybe a Little Sleep)

Life is absolutely hectic these days. Between work, family, and trying to squeeze in some me time/self-care/relaxation, it can be challenging to keep up. But there's one thing that always gets me through: coffee. I deeply love the flavor of a good cup of joe, and it gives me the motivation I need to tackle the day.

Of course, I also know that sleep is important. But sometimes, when you're powering through a busy schedule, it can be hard to get enough shut-eye. So, on those days when I'm feeling particularly tired, I might just indulge in a little extra coffee (and maybe even skip a nap/power nap/quick snooze).

No condemnation here – we all have our vices. And for me, it's a warm mug of coffee and the promise of a productive day/getting things done/accomplishing my goals.

Fueled by Coffee and Bedlam

My Other Counselor is a French Press

When life gets overwhelming, and the usual self-care practices aren't sufficient, I turn to my unconventional source of peace: a trusty coffee maker. This ritualistic process of crushing beans, mixing hot water, and patiently steeping for the perfect brew becomes my moment of clarity. Each taste carries with it a sense of calm, grounding me in the present moment.

  • Sometimes, I even engage in introspection as I observe the cycle of the steeping process.
  • In other instances, it's simply a delightful break from the constant chaos.

So, while I may occasionally seek out a mental health professional, my French Press remains a reliable friend through life's ups and downs.
